Bittinger & Co unveils sleek orchid pot collection

Bittinger & Co’s latest showroom opening showcased orchid pots that blend functional design with understated style, attracting collectors and interior designers.

New Orchid Pot Collection

The display featured several models from specialty manufacturers. The Fleur Blooming Arch Pot costs $44 and is supplied by Bergs Potter through Bittinger & Co. A larger option, the Large Orchid Pot from Campo de’ Fiori, carries a price tag of $64. Both pieces emphasize clean lines and a neutral palette suited for modern interiors.

Also available are the Københavner Pot at $22 and the Københavner Low Pot for $57, again from Bergs Potter. These designs provide a low‑profile alternative for smaller orchid specimens while maintaining the same level of craftsmanship.

The Orchid Pot by Abbie Zabar costs $134 and is offered by Seibert & Rice. Its distinctive shape and finish set it apart from the more utilitarian options, catering to collectors who value aesthetics as much as plant health.

Variety of Orchids on Display

Accompanying the pots, a selection of orchid varieties was arranged from left to right: Oncidium, Brassia, Paphiopedilum, another Oncidium, Miltoniopsis, all sourced through Bittinger & Co. The arrangement highlighted how each container can accommodate different growth habits and bloom sizes.

One observer noted that the simple yet sturdy construction of the pots allows for adequate drainage, an essential factor for orchid health. The display also featured a brief note about the importance of airflow, reminding visitors that the right container can help prevent root rot.

While the primary focus remained on orchid housing, the showroom also included complementary pieces such as the Orchid Lounge Chair priced at $3,788 and its matching Ottoman for $1,348, both by JANUS et Cie. These items aim to create a cohesive environment for both plants and people.

Orchid enthusiasts often seek containers that balance aesthetics with the specific needs of epiphytic plants, which require good aeration and the ability to dry out between waterings. The variety of pots presented offers options for both novice growers and seasoned collectors, reflecting a market trend toward specialized horticultural accessories.

Beyond the orchid‑specific offerings, the showroom showcased a range of outdoor and indoor accessories, from Shima Fabric in Jungle to Pool Lounge Covers priced at $98 each. These items illustrate Bittinger & Co’s broader commitment to curated design.

Production of the Fleur Blooming Arch Pot and the Københavner Pot is handled by Bergs Potter, a manufacturer known for hand‑crafted ceramics. Campo de’ Fiori, the source of the larger pot, specializes in Italian‑style pottery that often features subtle glaze variations.

Stylist Amanda Smith Fowler emphasized matching plant containers with the surrounding interior. “A well‑chosen pot can enhance the visual impact of an orchid without overwhelming the space,” she said.

Overall, the exhibit demonstrated a growing interest in specialized horticultural design, where the container is seen as an integral component of the plant’s presentation.
